One of the farms we are proud to own, Isaacson, carries a remarkable history. Acquired in 2021, this farm was originally owned by Lawrence Thomas Isaacson, a proud serviceman who dedicated his life to his country with resilience and determination.
Born on January 22, 1917, Lawrence called Hilton, in the City of West Torrens, his home before enlisting in World War II on June 22, 1942. He served as a Lance Corporal in the 2nd/8th Field Ambulance unit, a role that placed him near the frontlines of battle.
Throughout his service, which lasted until the end of the war, Lawrence provided vital medical support to Australian soldiers. His duties involved treating injuries, evacuating the wounded, and ensuring the health of troops under incredibly challenging conditions.
The 2nd/8th Field Ambulance was renowned for its bravery and commitment, operating in some of the most challenging areas of the Pacific during WWII.
After the war, he returned home and, under the Returned Soldier Settlement Scheme, which was established to provide blocks of land to help veterans rebuild their lives, he took ownership of the farm now known as "Isaacson".
Today, Isaacson Farm is a proud part of our operation, and we strive to honour the legacy of Lawrence and all the hard work that has gone into making it what it is.
Isaacson Farm stands as a living testament to resilience, history, and community—a legacy we are privileged to continue.
